Pure Psychology Changed Harvey Norman Ads

There is not many people like him and he is truly one of our best Australians ever and always will be. The first place that comes to mind when I need a certain product is the Liverpool Super Center so naturally that is where I went. While I was at the store I found the ink carterage I wanted for my printer and then had a further look around the store to see if there was anything I needed before going to check out.

When I was at the check out there was no one else around, so I said to the lady serving me, do you know what we do, meaning the family, at home when there are Harvey Norman ads on, we all try to find the television control as quick as we can to mute the TV or change the channel before the add ends. This is because of the big Go at the end of every commercial.

The Harvey Norman ads are on fairly regularly which is okay, but the big celebration at the end was turning us off the commercials altogether, and I said to the lady serving me, that we are probably not be the only ones that think like this. I also mentioned to the lady that if people are turning off your adds, that means less security and profits for your company and maybe it would be a good idea to tell the Boss Gerry Harvey, about what we do.

Anyhow I thought I would mention that while I was there. Two months later at the start of 2013 I had noticed a (toning down) at the end of the Harvey Norman ads and knew straight away this had been done because of what I said in the store that day. There is no way Gerry Harvey would have done that without some feed back from the public and it goes to show how much he really listens to what people think.

Another thing too about the Harvey Norman ads, he did what he did because of the employees and customers that go to his stores, he was very quick to think and take action which I really admire him for, what a champion! People like Gerry Harvey and there are many of them in this country, such as John Singleton, Dick Smith and Gina Rinehart are some of the king pins of Australian business, culture and the prosperity we stand for.
